Boudoir can be one of the most uncomfortable and vulnerable things a woman will do in her life. My goal is to HOPEFULLY make you feel more prepared and confident when walking into your bridal boudoir session.
Many of the clients I have are brides to be who want to have this boudoir experience and leave with one hot gift for their son to be husband. As much as a fabulous gift that is going to be, your session is about YOU. The next few steps to prepare for your session guide you to preparing your heart, mind, body, and wardrobe for this time that is ALL ABOUT YOU! 🙂
1.Do Your Hair and Makeup When Trying on Lingerie.
Most women are uncomfortable putting on their first piece of lingerie. Our minds go to our deepest insecurities when we are in those places of uncomfortability. We do not want to be there when preparing for your boudoir experience. Pamper yourself to a point where you are feeling so confident and beautiful, that when you try on those beautiful pieces of lingerie, you will see your best self in the mirror. This will help you stay out of your head and get those little over thinking thoughts away. Give yourself a true picture of what you will look like during your experience. This will help you be more excited about what is to come than anxious or nervous!
2. Exfoliate and Moisturize The Night Before Your Session
That night before your session is the night you take THE shower. Ladies, you know the one I’m talking about. Do the hair mask, exfoliate, shave, moisturize, shampoo, AND condition your hair, then give yourself a blowout with your Revlon Hair Dryer Brush. Make the night before your best at home spa day. Focus on what you love about your body while pampering yourself, and express thankfulness for the incredible things your body does for you every single day. This prepares your body and mind for your experience!
3. Communicate with Your Photographer
Make sure your photographer knows about your thoughts around yourself and your session prior to the day of. This can be thoughts of how you want to feel during your session, parts of your body you want to show off, or if there is any type of story to tell through your session.
4. Hang and Steam Your Outfits!
I cannot count how many gals who have come to their session and pulled out their lingerie for it to be super wrinkly. Of course I have wrinkle free spray and a steamer at your session, but our time together can be spent prepping outfits, or having for time to pose and shoot! Go ahead and have those prepared beforehand!
5. Get Ready to Have FUN!
Play your favorite songs on repeat, and do whatever you need to to pump yourself up! You are about to have one incredible, life changing experience!
