From the moment I walked into the bridal party’s airbnb to until the reception ended, Josh and Madison’s wedding was planned with simplicity and intention. They took the idea of making your day your own in the most classy and fun way.
Maddison had the most bridesmaid I have yet to work with – a total of 13! While there were many of them, the dynamic of the group was full of so much excitement and joy! They got ready at an airbnb right down the road from Summerour Studio. After they finished getting ready, Maddison had the sweetest bridesmaids first look with her girl on the steps outside. While the gals got pumped in the party bus on the way to the venue I met up with Josh and his groomsmen to take their group shots in the precious Summerour Courtyard.
When the gals arrived to Summerour, we set up for the first look. Maddison greeted Josh with the sweetest behind the back hug. (My personal favorite first look greeting). We then took their couples portraits in the Summerour Courtyard. The wedding party then joined us for full group shots. Josh had 5 groomsmen while Maddison as 13 bridesmaids, a tad uneven. No worries! I mixed the bridesmaids and groomsmen together and did more candid group shots rather than more posed formal ones.
M&J’s Ceremony was short, sweet, and so sentimental. Josh’s father, who was also his best man, performed their ceremony. He told precious stories from the beginning of M&J’s relationship as well as kind wishes to the couple. Since all of their family portraits were taken prior to the ceremony we moved directly into the cocktail hour out in the Summerour Courtyard.
This reception was the total highlight of the day. The table numbers were postcards of special places M&J have visited together, the dinner stations were all of their favorite foods, and the live band played the couples all time favorite songs all night long. We danced, laughed, and evened the night to a tradition from Josh’s side of the family. Everyone circled up and sang a Bruce Springsteen song to welcome Maddison into the family. Seriously a night I will NEVER forget!
