Creature Comforts Brewery Wedding Day – Connor and Julia: May 2023

Getting Ready

When Connor and Julia had their first call with me, they said “we just want to drink beer and party”. That is exactly how their day went. We started the day off at The Graduate Hotel in Athens, Georgia with details, getting ready, and their first look photos. In the Graduate Hotel, the Hoyt House sits right in the middle of the property. Connor and Julia got ready along with their wedding parties and two pups in the two large rooms upstairs right across the hall from each other.

First Look

Connor and Julia had their first look on the grounds of the Graduate Athens. They have been together for 13 years, so this first look was long awaited for them. They started dating as freshmen in high school and have been together ever since! To make this day even more special, Connor and I were elementary and middle school besties! I remember him telling me about meeting Julia for the first time, so being about to capture their wedding day was so incredibly rewarding to my heart!

Wedding Portraits

Connor and Julia are both University of Georgia graduates, so what better place to take their wedding party photos than on UGA’s beautiful North Campus! We took all of their wedding party, family, and bride and groom portraits all over North Campus. There are so many beautiful spots for setting variety and lighting. The images speak for themselves!

Wedding Ceremony at Creature Comforts Brewery

After portraits we headed to Creature Comforts Brewery for the part of the day everyone is there for, The Ceremony and Reception! Connor and Julia incorporated some very sweet moments in their ceremony. One was a ring warming ceremony. They tied their rings with a ribbon and passed them around their guests to pray over and express their kind thoughts to them. After the box mad it through all of their guests, they placed the rings on each others finger. A very unique and precious moment for everyone!

Reception at Creature Comforts Brewery

After their ceremony the guests went straight into dinner and party time! Mama’s Boy Catering kicked off the night with a delicious barbecue dinner and of course creature comforts beer! The Newley Weds entered their reception to live music played by the Emerald Empire Wedding band, and shared their choreographed first dance to “You’re Still The One”. The most fitting song for a couple who has been together for 13 years! Their guests partied all night while sipping their favorite Creature Comforts Beers! Connor and Julia ended their night with a black and red pom pom send off and jump in the fountain, Perfect for two University of Georgia grads! This will always be a night to remember! Congrats to the Campbell-Gibbs family!
